There has been a lot of recent bird activity; nest building, ground feeding, and general mayhem as summer gears up. We have swallows active above the wetland morning and evenings, and many sightings around the house and fields. The White-crowned Sparrows are nesting in multiple little pockets around the yard and field, the Barn Swallows have been busy in several locations (including the barn), and a Tree Swallow has been guarding the nest box (the same box has been active for 3 years in a row). The House Finch are more shy, but lately joining in the parties at the bubblers.
